Folashade Martinez

Hi Everyone! My name is Folashade, and I am running for Vice President of the Healthcare Business Society.

Currently, I am an MSci Business and Health student, exploring how various aspects of business can assist in making healthcare systems more efficient and successful for patients. In addition, I hold the title of Marketing Executive for the UCL Entrepreneurs Society and First Year Representative for the Healthcare Business, where I assist with engaging members, communicating with them as necessary, and helping students find opportunities through our society. During my time in this society, I have learnt how to represent a community, work collaboratively with others, and assist with getting ideas from their founders out to the right audiences.

I would like our society to feel like a community and an environment where people will want to attend our events, share their ideas and provide a place to learn about the many different aspects of business in healthcare, such as innovation, marketing, policies and management.

If elected, my main goals will be to increase member engagement with our society and develop an interest in the events we offer and enhance the learning experiences of our members by providing meaningful industry-related learning experiences and to ensure that every member in our society feels valued and involved. And work alongside our elected president to continue to let this be a passionate community.

Thank you!

Isabel Medina Estrella

I am standing for Vice President because I want to play a central role in shaping the strategic direction, growth, and long-term impact of HBS.

Throughout my experiences, I have consistently positioned myself at the intersection of science, leadership, and innovation. As a Biomedical Science student specialising in Drug Mechanisms, I am deeply engaged with the scientific foundations of healthcare. Simultaneously, my experience with a MedTech startup, CareRobotics, introduced me to the strategic and financial realities of scaling healthcare innovation.

Having been on the Events Committee, I understand how much work goes into delivering quality events. I have seen the operational side of the society and recognise both its strengths and potential. As Vice President, I would aim to strengthen internal coordination, ensure continuity between committees, and support the President in translating vision into execution.

My previous leadership roles have prepared me well for this responsibility. As a Student Union Leader and Coordinator at the International School of Geneva, I managed teams, organised large-scale events, and ensured initiatives ran smoothly; all of which have taught me the importance of leading collaboratively.

If elected, I would focus on:

  • Strengthening collaboration across committees to ensure aligned goals
  • Expanding professional partnerships within healthcare, biotech, and venture capital
  • Developing clear strategic objectives for the year, with measurable outcomes
