The intersection between healthcare, science, and business allows me to combine my academic interests with my practical experience within this role in the society. Studying Biomedical Science in the Cells and Molecules stream has deepened my fascination with the scientific foundations of healthcare, while also motivating me to explore how innovation, strategy, and business decisions translate scientific advances into real-world impact. Alongside my studies, my corporate internship experiences at DSM-Firmenich and Procter and Gamble (P&G) have shown me the importance of clear communication, strong branding, and effective engagement in professional environments.
As Secretary this year, I have been involved in organising socials and team-building activities, coordinating committee discussions and votes, and managing communications to support the smooth running of events. These responsibilities have strengthened my organisational skills and given me a thorough understanding of how the society operates behind the scenes. They have also sparked a real enthusiasm for representing the society outwardly and showcasing its ambition. As Media Secretary, I would bring creativity, consistency, and strategic thinking to our platforms, promoting events effectively and highlighting the society’s role in bridging healthcare and business.
I am standing for Media Secretary because I am genuinely passionate about the intersection of healthcare, innovation, and business — and I want to help shape how our society communicates that vision to the wider UCL community.
As a Biomedical Sciences student specialising in Drug Mechanisms, I am deeply engaged with the scientific side of healthcare. At the same time, through my experience with CareRobotics, a MedTech startup, I have developed a strong interest in healthcare strategy, innovation, and the business frameworks that allow scientific ideas to translate into real-world impact. The Healthcare and Business Society sits exactly at this intersection, and I would love to contribute to strengthening its presence and influence.
Having already been part of the Events Committee, I’ve seen firsthand the work that goes into organising impactful events. I believe effective media is what amplifies that work — transforming one evening panel or networking event into lasting engagement, inspiration, and opportunity. I want to ensure that our events don’t just happen, but that they reach the right audiences, reflect our professionalism, and build a strong, recognisable identity for the society.
If elected, I would focus on:
- Creating a cohesive and professional media identity across platforms
- Increasing engagement through strategic, consistent content
- Showcasing member achievements and society impact
