Hello everyone!
My name is Minnoli Pitale, and I’m a BSc Biomedical Science student running for 2nd Year Representative of the Healthcare Business Society. To me, healthcare is so much more than science—it’s about innovation, strategy, and the business decisions that determine real-world impact.
As an active member of this society, I’ve seen first-hand how valuable our events, speaker sessions, and networking opportunities are in helping students explore the intersection of healthcare and business. Moreover, serving as President of 2 science clubs in high school has given me the necessary experience to transform ambitious ideas into tangible opportunities.
Furthermore, having been chosen as the Academic Representative of my cohort, I’ve worked to transform students’ concerns into real action by working with faculty to create positive changes. As 2nd year rep, I want to bring the same commitment working alongside the President and Treasurer to create a supportive, engaging community and ensure that second-year perspectives are heard and reflected in the society’s direction.
I was also selected for a MedTech Mentorship Programme, wherein I gained first-hand insight into biotech leadership, scientific research, and operations. As 2nd year rep, I want to leverage this experience and my industry connections to expand mentorship, networking, and career opportunities—helping students explore diverse domains such as biotech innovation and healthcare consulting beyond the classroom.
My goal is to cultivate a collaborative environment where every second-year student feels their professional interests are represented and their voices are genuinely heard. I want to move beyond standard networking to build a community that thrives on inclusivity and shared success. As a Business and Health student, my academics directly support this purpose, giving me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the field.
I currently serve as a Co-Lead for my course's TIDEM SAC, representing our year across Technology, Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing. This role has given me direct experience acting as a bridge between students and leadership, using a business-focused mindset to turn peer feedback into real results. This experience, combined with winning the Entrepreneur Society's Reverse Shark Tank and a Women’s Health FemTech pitching competition, has equipped me with the strategic mindset and communication skills necessary to advocate for our year effectively.
If elected, I will act as an approachable point of contact to ensure our events align with our cohort's career-related goals. By leveraging my background, including a CIMA Business Games certificate, I aim to organise workshops that provide practical healthcare business skills while making every member's opinion feel valued. I have the representative experience and academic drive to ensure our community thrives.
