Gymnastics Club: Treasurer

Why Treasurer? Growing up, I was absolutely obsessed with gymnastics, but I never got the chance to pursue it the way I wanted to. Joining UCL Gymnastics changed that 💛; it's reignited my love for the sport, and being surrounded by such an incredible, supportive community has made it one of the best parts of uni. That's exactly why I want to give back and keep this society thriving.

Why me?

• 📋 Organising and budgeting are genuinely some of my favourite things, I find it satisfying, not stressful
• 📊 I have formal finance training, so the numbers side of this role is something I'm well-equipped for
• 🏆 I have leadership experience and know how to take ownership and follow through with responsibilities
• 🤝 I'm naturally collaborative and will work across the whole committee to make sure every part of the society feels properly supported

What I'll do:

• 🤸🏾 Make sure gymnastics is accessible to everyone, no one should feel cost is a barrier
• 📢 Ensure all financial support avenues are clearly communicated to every member
• ⏱️ Guarantee timely payments for facilities and competitions so our hard work gets to shine, stress-free
• 🧠 Work closely with the President to aid decision-making, idea generation and smarter planning.
• 📈 Introduce an end-of-year budget review so each new year is better than the last

The first thing I noticed when I joined this club was how welcoming and affordable it was. From being able to borrow uniforms to having travel fees covered, I was impressed by how well managed the funds were. It made gymnastics feel accessible, and as someone who joined as a beginner, that meant a lot to me. As treasurer, my priority would be to manage our finances transparently, so that every member feels confident in how our money is being used. Through my previous committee role in cheer, I've developed strong organisation skills and attention to detail. I specifically want to focus on:

EFFICIENT BUDGETING

• I want to ensure funds are allocated efficiently across training, events, and competitions, while keeping costs reasonable. This includes processing reimbursements quickly and planning comp logistics early to secure more affordable options

SUPPORTING CHARITY SEC

• I want to work with the charity sec to support fundraising activities, helping raise additional funds that can make gymnastics even more accessible

SUPPORTING THE CLUB 

• I want to collaborate closely with the committee members to help the club grow, whether that's improving publicity, attracting new gymnasts, or ensuring beginners feel welcome and supported

I might not be the most extroverted person, but you can trust me with anything to do with excel or money. Most importantly, I would love the opportunity to give back to a community that has been so welcoming to me, by helping more people discover this amazing sport 💜

Hey! I’m Artemis and I’m running for Treasurer. I did gymnastics for about 12 years and it was a huge part of my life — I genuinely used to live and breathe it. I competed nationally and internationally growing up (and occasionally ended up at the same competitions as the Gadirova sisters, which is a fun claim to fame). Gymnastics was such a big part of my life for so long, so it would be really nice to be involved in it again and be part of the society!

If elected, I’d make sure the society’s finances are organised and transparent. I’m a very organised and reliable person, and I’d keep track of budgets, memberships, and payments carefully so everything runs smoothly. I’d also work closely with the rest of the committee when planning events and activities to make sure spending is well thought out and used in ways that benefit members. I’m someone who stays on top of things and communicates clearly, so people always know what’s going on with payments, reimbursements, and society spending.
