Green Party Society: Treasurer

Heya, I've been your treasurer this year, or rather, month. I have been working with the rest of the entire committee for the past few months to get the society off the ground, and it's taken quite a lot of effort. However, it hasn't even been a month since we finished all the necessary paperwork, and there's a lot I have planned.

An important goal of mine is to have the society be a living, breathing entity. In my capacity as treasurer, I can facilitate this by negotiating funding with our local party and the London Young Greens, running regular events such as leafletting, socials, and (hopefully down the line) collabs with other societies based on shared values, be they environmental, social, or anything else.

I also want the society to be run by all of you, pitching in with ideas, agreements and disagreements with how things are done. I feel like this is an important aspect of the Green Party, and something we should absolutely preserve in our society. I want to implement things like a proper grievance addressing procedure, so issues with any aspect of the party can be dealt with.

While we have got the society off the ground, there's still many issues to deal with, notably having a proper comms team, figuring out an events schedule, among others. While we can get some of these things done by June, we won't be through with everything. Having a committee that knows all the issues from the get go would be incredibly helpful and give us a great start into the next academic year
