Graphic Novels and Comics Society: Treasurer

I dont know how to delete this but I highly reccommend voting for the other candidate (Vanessa) for treasurer!! vote me for events officer instead!!! 

Having been part of GNCS for the past two years, I'd love to contribute more as Treasurer. I consistently attend events, support sessions, and genuinely care about the community we’ve built. That consistency matters when you’re handling something as important as society finances.

As an INFJ, I feel uniquely qualified for this role:

I: Introverted
I will not leak our financial records, SU negotiations, or highly confidential plans for world domination. Discretion is my natural state.

N: Intuition
If something in the budget looks off, I’ll catch it. If the SU is vague, I’ll read between the lines. If we deserve a better room, I won’t stop pushing.

F: Feeling
While my head may occasionally be empty, my heart is fully committed to the society. I care about benefiting members, whether that’s for events, collaborations, or making sure we can afford things that make GNCS enjoyable (like Digestives)

J: Judging
Deadlines fear me. Paperwork does not intimidate me. I am organised, structured, and mildly allergic to inefficiency. I’ll track expenses carefully, process reimbursements, and never miss a submission window.

Beyond acronyms, I bring practical experience. I’ve been a wellbeing monitor, requiring accountability and confidentiality. I also volunteered at a charity shop, handling the till and helping customers.

In summary: I am loyal, organised, and deeply invested in this society. I promise not to disappear mid-term, or accidentally bankrupt us for Silco merch (no matter how tempting). 

Hello, I’m Emma! I’m running for Treasurer of the UCL Graphic Novels & Comics Society. 

The treasurer role requires someone skilled in budgeting, organisation, communication, and efficiency. These are all areas that I’m well versed in and have experience in through event organizations. In other words, I have developed strong planning and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to act responsibly and effectively.

The UCL Graphic Novels & Comics Society sparked my interest from day one. The events I have attended gave me a clear understanding of the community and what the members value, whether that’s engaging with guest speakers, creative workshops, or socials. A Treasurer’s role is not just about managing money, it is also about ensuring that we can continue hosting these events without last-minute financial stress.

If elected, I will handle the society’s funds responsibly, and stay organized and consistent. Additionally, you can count on me to keep clear and transparent communication with the committee, be responsive and dependable, and to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
