Angelica Bidlack

Dear fellow Government and Politics Society Members,

My name is Angelica, and I am a Philosophy, Politics, and Economics student. I am excited to run for being Chief Editor in the Government and Politics Society!

Like most students studying politics, I am an enthusiast when it comes to political discourse. And that is precisely why I am applying for this position: I hope to strengthen lively ideas on past, current, or predicted political matters, and encourage students to participate in such discussions.

Past experiences and roles which contributed to making me a strong candidate for this position include: 1) Being Editor in Chief of the student newspaper at my previous school for two terms, 2) Experience being published for magazines such as for IRK Magazine, 3) Participating in the 2024 Harvard Crimson Journalism Summit, and 4) Being an active writer for UCL’s Law for All society’s blog. These experiences shaped my writing skills, taught me how to assess good writing, and organize content for publications.

I am confident that I can collaborate effectively with motivated writers to create an engaging platform for UCL students to share their perspectives on political matters. I look forward to engaging in thoughtful political discussion together, whether as your Chief Editor or as an active member of the Government and Politics Society. Thank you for considering me – I would love the opportunity to work alongside you and help shape the Society’s voice.

~ Angelica :)
