Tomi Adejuwon

I am standing for Bible Study Coordinator because I have a deep passion for the Word of God and a desire to see others grow in this passion too. My hope is that through the weekly studies, we would discover what Scripture reveals about Jesus, increase in understanding and continue to fellowship with one another. I love the saying, “The New Testament is the Old revealed, and the Old Testament is the New concealed,” as it perfectly summarises my approach to Scripture: it all points to Jesus.

I believe Bible studies should be engaging and accurate, which I have found to be true this year. I would build on what has already been established by including more Q and A sessions and exploring the context behind biblical narratives. I would aim to focus on the areas that people find most helpful.

I understand that this role requires teamwork, commitment and adaptability - skills I have developed through playing netball. I learnt to adapt my play by taking on feedback from my teammates and coaches. I also came to appreciate the value of working to everyone’s strengths. These skills, alongside effective communication, would help me to carry out this role effectively.

VOCE Bible studies have played an important part in helping me settle into UCL and I would love the opportunity to serve on the committee and give others a similar experience. As Jesus said, “Freely you have received; freely give.”
