Food Society: President

Hi, I'm Megan, aka Mexie! I'm a food TikToker (@yagirlmexie), UCL café content creator (@theunioncafes), and your candidate for Food Society President.

Food is more than something we eat: it's community, creativity, but not only that - there's so many different career paths within the industry. I want UCL Food Society to reflect that.

Inspired by two of NYC's biggest university food societies: Columbia's Gourmand and NYU's Bite Club — here's what I'm bringing to the table:

🖊️ A UCL Food Society Blog: a published platform for student food writers to build real portfolios. One of you could be the future Anthony Bourdain, or a food critic working at Tatler!

📱 Creator Collabs: leveraging our Instagram following through collaborative content with UCL's aspiring food creators, growing their audiences alongside ours.

🎤 Guest Speakers: from food writers and restaurant founders to hospitality marketers and content creators. 

🍽️ Restaurant Discounts: because student budgets are real.

🥐 Epic Events: bakery crawls, supper clubs, taste tests, and more.

My vision is simple: give every UCL student an outlet through food, and open doors to the incredible careers this industry holds.
