European Society: President

Hello! I'm Amelie and I am running for president of European society because I am passionate about this community and upholding European identity within the UK. Given Brexit I feel as though it is more important than ever to retain close ties to our continental European friends. As a History and Politics student and the product of European migration, this society matters deeply to me. As your leader I would love to host cultural evenings providing national foods and insights into different countries, in a positive space where you and your friends can have fun, share and become better informed. I want to hold more cross university events and socials where members can meet new people and build friendships with like minded individuals in a welcoming and friendly space. Having attended many events and panels with Eurosoc, I would love to keep in this spirit and hold events with those who work in diplomacy, languages and fields our members are interested in. I want to make sure that each member feels just as encouraged and motivated as I have been. By voting for me you can guarantee both a strong social side to the society but also an academic side, which would cover current affairs, European relations and embassy visits. I will be a leader who values openness with my team and will always be happy to chat with members and be accepting of feedback and ideas. I would be honoured to have your vote and look forward to an ambitious year ahead. ps new merch is 100% on the agenda too!
