I am standing for the Events Director role, as I have thoroughly enjoyed working as an executive on this team for the past year. Alongside my university studies, I have been pursuing a part-time career in healthcare and wellness. Through this, I have developed connections with inspiring founders and professionals in the wellbeing space - relationships I would leverage to bring exciting speakers, collaborations, and industry-focused events to next year’s programme.
Over the past year, there has been great success when individuals have brought their own passions to group discussions. The most successful events, as a result, have been those that connect diverse fields and allow students to explore entrepreneurship from new and creative angles.
As an Events Director, I would aim to introduce smaller, interactive networking sessions, collaborate with other societies to align with specific passions, and maintain an open environment where new ideas and speaker suggestions are always welcome and actionable.
I want to be Events Director for the Entrepreneurs Society because events are where real value is created. They shape how students experience the society and determine whether it feels average or exceptional. I want to design events that are not just talks, but experiences that connect students directly with founders, operators and investors. The goal is quality over quantity, stronger speakers, better structure and outcomes that actually benefit members.
Hi everybody, I'm Sarp. I’m putting myself forward for Events Director because I think entrepreneurship should feel a bit more real and a lot less intimidating. Not everyone walks into a room calling themselves a “founder”, some people just have ideas and don’t know where to start (me included). I’d love to create events that actually help with that.
I’m thinking more interactive stuff, relaxed networking that doesn’t feel awkward, honest talks about failures as much as successes, and practical sessions where you can test an idea instead of just listening to one. A mix of early-stage founders, creatives, and people from bigger companies would keep things balanced and interesting. Nothing overly formal or try-hard, just good energy, useful conversations, and events people leave feeling motivated rather than overwhelmed.
I’m standing because entrepreneurship thrives on energy, creativity, and execution. As Events Director, I want to deliver practical, high-impact events, from founder firesides to hands-on startup workshops and pitch competitions. My aim is to create opportunities for members to build skills, grow networks, and turn ideas into action. By strengthening partnerships with founders, accelerators, and student startups, we can create a calendar that’s dynamic and diverse. Great events don’t just fill rooms - they spark ideas, partnerships, and ventures.
Having been actively involved in the UCL Entrepreneurs Society as a first-year representative over the past year, I truly am in awe of what the society has built. The frequency and quality of events conducted have created something rare - a large real community where student founders connect, learn and grow together. I want to be the person who protects that. Throughout my time at UCL till date, being a member and in the committee of this society has been one of the most rewarding experiences. Having also explored the entrepreneurial ecosystem outside our university, I can confidently say that the events of our society have reached their own level of success owing to the strength of our networking opportunities and the excellence of speakers the society brings, among many other factors. I have had the privilege to see first-hand the level of dedication it takes to maintain this standard. My goal is simple, not to reinvent but to carry this forward and raise the bar whenever the opportunity to do so arises. I am standing for this position, promising to bring consistency, commitment, and respect for the legacy that has been built before me. I will make sure that all members of the society are delivered what they deserve - events that continue to inspire, connect and challenge them. If elected, I vow to be that person who is prepared to lead with purpose, maintain the calibre of this society's events, and ensure that the best is always ahead.
Hi everyone! My name is Ares, and I study Theoretical Physics. I’m excited to be running for Events Director at UCL Entrepreneurs.
Over the past year, I’ve really enjoyed getting involved in the society, especially through hackathons and partner events. My greatest highlight was winning the Brain HacQ Hackathon organised through the society, which showed me how powerful these events can be for bringing together ambitious people and turning ideas into real projects.
If elected, I’d love to help organise engaging events and bridge the gap between casual attendees and locked-in founders, whether you’re just curious about startups and entrepreneurship or already building something. I’d also work more closely with the officers to bring fresh event ideas so members have more opportunities to learn, collaborate and meet like-minded people. I’ve also taken on leadership roles before, both in school and outside, so I’m comfortable organising teams and helping ideas turn into well-run events that people genuinely enjoy.
Thanks for reading, and I’d really appreciate your vote! :)
Hi everyone!
I’m Reya, and I’m running to be your Events Director for UCL Entrepreneurs Society.
If elected, I want to help create events that are exciting and useful, and make the society experience even stronger throughout the year.
I see events as one of the biggest ways to shape what members actually get from the society. The right events can create real connections, and give members direct access to founders, ideas, and opportunities in the startup and business space.
If elected, my focus will be:
1. More high-value events
Plan events that are engaging, well organised, and genuinely beneficial for members.
2. A better mix of events across the year
Create a strong balance of speaker events, practical workshops, networking sessions, and socials so there is something valuable for everyone.
3. More access to founders and industry insights
Bring in founders, operators, and professionals who can share real experiences, advice, and insights through talks, Q&As, and networking opportunities.
4. Member-led events and feedback
Value members’ voices and use feedback to shape events around what people actually want from the society.
I’d really appreciate your support, and I’d love the chance to help make next year’s events even stronger for UCL Entrepreneurs Society.
I'm standing because I think entrepreneurship and innovation in tech needs to happen in communities like ours, not just in corporate spaces.
I'm a Biomedical Engineering student, and I'm working on my own startup right now. When I started, I realized that the people who actually do things are just the ones who try. I reached out to professors about research gaps, applied for opportunities, and got a research internship at Stanford. It was not magic, it was just not being afraid to ask.
What I want to do is help other people in our society feel like they can do that too. I want to organize events where we actually hear from people building real things—founders, researchers, people who've taken risks. Not just networking for the sake of it.
More than anything, I want to build a culture where people feel like it's possible to pursue their ideas. Where they have connections, where they see others doing ambitious things, and where it does not feel impossible to try.
I think our society could be a place where people actually support each other in building things. That's what I want to create.
