Hi, My name is Maha and I am a first year Biochemical engineer who would love the opportunity to give you the best UCLES events!
Engineering at UCL can be overwhelming and my main focus as events officer would be to keep events exciting and frequent, whilst also bringing different engineering specialties together through inter-uni and cross-department events to build a stronger sense of community and give everyone a chance to meet more people. From quiz nights to balls, giving you the opportunities to make lifelong memories is my main priority.
Also, I would organise a range of events, from internship advice panels and guest speakers to careers events to help students explore different pathways within engineering. By having advice from older years and different engineering degrees, this will help to create an academic support system whilst at university.
With a good eye for detail, I will ensure that every event feels thoughtful, well-organised and enjoyable. Being proactive and genuinely motivated to create opportunities that benefit you, I will bring commitment and dedication to this role, working hard to exceed your expectations.
Most importantly, my main goal would be making sure everyone has the best possible experience in Engineering at UCL. Vote for me if you want to be confident that your Engineering Society events will give you all the support you need to make choices for your future career, have the most fun during your time at UCL and an events officer who listens! :)
Hi, I’m Kendrix, a first-year Chemical Engineering student running for Head of Events.
As this year’s EngSoc Fresher Rep, I’ve seen first-hand what makes our biggest events feel effortless. Great events don’t happen overnight: they are built through planning spreadsheets, booking confirmations, and organised shared drives. It’s the detailed work behind the scenes that allows members to simply show up and enjoy the experience. I want to be a part of that.
My priority isn’t to add more to the calendar, but to improve the quality and delivery of what we already run. I want to build on our current systems so that our event information is organised clearly, allowing future committees to learn from the past instead of starting from scratch. I also aim to strengthen the foundation laid by previous the committees and become the backbone behind EngSoc’s headline events.
What excites me most is the moment a venue is confirmed and the real responsibility begins. My role is to ensure every detail is planned out, every resource is accessible, and every committee member knows exactly what’s happening and when. With clearer communication, tidier shared drives, and small but meaningful tweaks, our members will feel events running smoother and more consistently.
Quiet improvements, but ones I’m certain EngSoc members will hear.
Let’s make this year unforgettable by focusing on the details that elevate our events and make our community proud!
