I'm running for Energy Society Internal Events Officer as I enjoy organising, planning and running events. I also have a strong interest in sustainability and renewable energies engineering. I want to bring together students from across different disciplines and year-groups who have a shared interest in energy. My experiences as Deputy Secretary General and lead organiser of a 400-delegate Model United Nations conference and Upper School Captain have given me experience managing logistics and coordinating diverse teams to ensure events run smoothly on the day. I've also taken on leadership roles in engineering projects, where I've been in charge of organising tasks, delegating jobs and ensuring we meet deadlines. I want to bring this experience to the Energy Society by delivering a mix of relaxed socials and hands-on workshops that will allow members to develop new skills and meet new people. I hope to lead events where everyone can share ideas and build lasting connections.

Hi everyone! My name is Lina, I’m a second-year Civil Engineering student with a minor in Environmental Engineering, and I’d love to be your next Internal Events Officer for the Energy Society. I’m particularly interested in renewable energy and how innovative solutions can help build a more sustainable future.

I really enjoy bringing people together, and I’d be excited to organise events that make the society both engaging and welcoming for members. My goal would be to create opportunities for people to learn more about the energy sector while also making it easy to meet others with similar interests.

Some events I’d love to organise include renewable energy trivia or pub quizzes, relaxed “energy talks & pizza” nights where students can discuss new technologies or big energy projects, and career coffee chats with students or recent graduates working in the industry. I’d also love to run interactive challenges, like small team competitions where members design creative solutions to real-world energy problems.

Alongside this, I’d make sure we have plenty of casual socials so members can connect, share ideas, and build a strong community within the society.

Energy is such an exciting and rapidly changing field, and I’d love to help create events that make the society both fun and inspiring to be part of.

I’d really appreciate your vote! ⚡
