Education Society: Treasurer

Hi- I’m Dia and I’m standing for treasurer as I’ve been part of this society as First Year Rep and Vice Secretary, and so I already understand how our committee works and what our members want from us. Through these roles, I’ve developed strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team , which are all essential qualities for a Treasurer. I’m used to managing admin tasks carefully and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Outside of university, I work at a GP surgery, where professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy are crucial. Handling responsibility in a real working environment has strengthened my reliability and attention to detail- which are qualities I would bring to managing our society’s finances.

I’ve also helped plan the IOE Ball and have been involved in organising multiple events. This has given me practical experience in budgeting, coordinating costs, and making sure events are both successful and financially realistic. I understand that good events require good financial planning.

Most importantly, I genuinely care about this society. I will go above and beyond to ensure our funds are managed responsibly, transparently, and in a way that allows us to grow and host even better events.
