I’m standing for the Secretary position for EduSoc because I care about making sure all members stay well-informed about the society’s activities and decisions. I believe effective communication and coordination are essential to helping a society run smoothly and ensuring everyone feels included in what’s going on.

For the past two years, I have served as a Course Representative for BA Early Childhood Education. This role involves regularly attending departmental and committee meetings and summarising (often very long!) discussions into clear, concise notes for both students and staff. I also have experience sending emails and reminders to students and staff to help coordinate meetings and share key announcements and feedback.

I’m very detail-oriented and take pride in keeping accurate and reliable records of meetings and events, and I would aim to keep information clear and accessible for everyone. I also make excellent use of my Google Calendar, so you can trust that meetings, events, and updates will always be scheduled and shared in good time.

If elected, I would do my best to support the committee and help EduSoc run smoothly by taking clear meeting minutes and making sure no important information gets lost in the sea of emails we all receive!

People have always been brought up with the idea that education is 'boring' or not 'useful' anymore. However, what a lot of us do not realise is that education is something that we have been in from a very young age, thus shaping us not just academically, but also personally and mentally. It is important that education is protected, improved, and made accessible in ways that empower students rather than disengage them. Education is about inclusivity and effective administration is the backbone of a successful team. By joining this committee as a secretary I will make sure to gather all ideas discussed in society meetings to ensure everybody's creative and amazing suggestions are taken into account and make education a safe space for younger students and educators. Organising speaker events will broaden our perspective on education which will help us enlighten the next generation of educators and make a positive impact. Also organising events which will be entertaining will bring people closer together and also allow us to catch a break from our own academics! Additionally, I have volunteered in many events such as ISOCs AL-Aqsa Week by dedicating time to attending and contributing in meetings to help organise events which will raise awareness on sensitive but important topics. My interdisciplinary and communication skills will help organise the society and allow me to make connections with other amazing and like minded people!
