Education is the most powerful multiplier of human potential, and entrepreneurship is the engine that drives transformation.
UCL which is famed for its intersection between research, innovation and global responsibility, grants us the privilege and obligation to rethink how learning happens and who it reaches.
I will focus on these priorities.
(1) Termly "Build to Launch" Sprints
Members from interdisciplinary teams should tackle a genuine educational challenge. Through extensive workshops in different fields and active collaborative communications with education innovators around the country, receiving mentorship and guidance, the members will transform the idea into a physical product they should be proud of.
(2) Connection and Intersection
Innovation meets at intersections, and it just so happens that UCL's strength lies in the sheer diversity of its disciplines. I will prioritise collaborations across many societies, such as MedTech Society, EFS Society, Linguistics Society and many more. Hackathons and joint events will be planned and run consistently throughout the year.
(3) Partnerships and Inclusivity
When transforming education, it needs to be inclusive. We will build partnerships with a variety of schools, running widening participation workshops with local organisations and government bodies. Highlighting the exploration of building digital resources to support learners across the country and globally, ensuring our innovation supports communities.
Vote for Benecia Wong.
Hi everyone, I’m Neha, a penultimate year Information Management student and current EIE Director. After three years with this society, I’m ready to lead our next chapter.
Why I’m running
I joined EIE to explore how tech can make learning more accessible. The highlight has been our community of passionate trailblazers — people as ardent as I am about education’s future. Over these three years, EIE has evolved from just a society into a genuine space for discovery. I’ve felt the energy in our rooms when we’re debating the ethics of AI or the future of classrooms, and that’s the pulse I want to protect. My placement year sharpened my ability to coordinate teams and manage projects, and I’m eager to bring that same drive to the President role.
My vision
-
Empowering the committee: I’ll be a catalyst for your ideas, removing obstacles so you have the autonomy to own your initiatives.
-
Widening the circle: I want to break down departmental silos and welcome more developers, educators, and curious minds into our fold.
-
Focusing on impact: I want to keep our events centred on tangible innovation, connecting us with the leaders currently shaping the EdTech landscape.
I’m not just looking to lead; I’m looking to listen, learn, and grow alongside you. This is a community built on shared curiosity, and I want to ensure every member feels that same sense of belonging I’ve found here. I’ve loved working with this team and am excited to build on our foundation together. Thanks for your consideration!
