Hello DermSoc! After having the privilege of serving as President of the Dermatology Society this year, I would be honoured to continue contributing to the society as Vice President in my final year.
Over the past year, I have worked with our committee to organise teaching sessions, career talks, our London Universities Dermatology Conference and other collaborative events aimed at making dermatology more accessible and engaging for students at all stages. This role has given me valuable experience in leading the society and in understanding areas where we can continue to grow and improve next year.
As Vice President, I hope to support the incoming President, providing continuity within the committee, and helping to deliver even more opportunities for students interested in dermatology. I will be able to assist in directly building on what we were able to achieve and deliver this year, in particular taking feedback from the teaching series and events that we held, to make next year even better. I'm passionate about keeping our society inclusive, educational, fun and supportive for everyone exploring the specialty.
Thank you for considering my nomination!
I’m excited to be running for Dermatology Society Vice President this year!
Over the past year as your Events Officer, I’ve had the opportunity to organise socials, contribute to the delivery of our annual inter-university conference, and prepare and deliver sessions in our teaching series. Through these experiences, I’ve developed a clearer understanding of what works well within our society, how much effort goes into running events behind the scenes, and how we can continue building on what we’ve established.
Dermatology is a specialty I’m genuinely passionate about. It’s a field that blends visual diagnosis, medicine, surgery, and long-term patient relationships, yet it’s often misunderstood as being narrow or purely cosmetic. As Vice President, I want to help showcase the true breadth of dermatology, from inflammatory and autoimmune conditions to skin cancer, psychodermatology, paediatric dermatology, and procedural work.
Having already served on this committee, I understand the responsibilities of the role and the importance of reliability, communication, and teamwork. I’m ready to step up, take on greater responsibility, and help lead the society in a way that is organised and enthusiastic.
Vote for me to help grow our Dermatology Society into an even more dynamic, supportive, and inspiring space for everyone interested in the specialty!
