Delilah Magazine: Treasurer

I love everything about the Delilah magazine! I think it's such a unique source of inspiration and I have really enjoyed my short time with the society so far. I am really excited to carry the initiative into 2027, and I think I could support and expand Delilah best as the society's Treasurer. Having recently completed an AAT Level 2 (an accounting and bookkeeping course that is almost as dull as it sounds), I think I would be well equipped to continue the management of our budget and make sure everything runs efficiently on the finance side of things. More importantly, like all Delilah members, I am obsessed with music. I play drums and love singing, which informs most of my writing, and, having been in bands, I LOVE live music. I have lots of ideas about how we could push the journalistic format to try and get people even more excited about gigs/shows/events.

My interest in music journalism was first sparked by the Desert Island Discs podcast. I was amazed by the interviews that treat music with the respect it deserves, something that I think Delilah conveys perfectly in such a beautiful format. I can't wait to keep promoting the club as the best artistic initiative at UCL, and I would love to do this as a member of the committee next year.
