Data Science Society: Treasurer

Hi everyone, I’m Aisha, and I’m running for Treasurer because I care about DSS and want to help it thrive financially and socially. 

Here’s what I bring to the role: 

• Love and understand the importance of (free) food - If I were to be elected, I’ll make sure our events are well-catered (including a lot of pizza from ICCO), because great events need great snacks. 
• Creative and proactive - I’ll allocate funds for socials, secure more sponsors, and expand the merch to raise money for fun activities such as Family Feud prizes.
• Financially responsible and trustworthy - I’ll track all income and expenses carefully, plan ahead, and ensure DSS stays sustainable.
• Good with numbers - As a Maths and Physics student, I’m analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing spreadsheets.
• Sociable and communicative person - I love teamwork and will stay open to feedback to make sure our resources are used wisely. 

Having attended a lot of DSS events, from the hackathons to project labs, I’ve seen what works and what can be improved. I’m ready to put the time, effort and care needed in order to be a responsible Treasurer.
