Sade McNichols-Thomas

Hi my name is Sade, I am a second year Creative arts and humanities student. Being part of the committee this year has been one of the most rewarding parts of my time at UCL, and with my final academic year coming up, I would love the opportunity to stay deeply involved in the society for one more year as Tech Officer.

Creativity and making things has always been central to how I work. As a creative arts and humanities student I think I ave a lot of capabilities for this role. and I believe this role leaves a lot of room to explore that. Beyond filming dance videos and ensuring dancers are shown in the best possible light, I would love to expand the society’s visual presence through more promotional and creative content. This could include concept videos, dance visuals, and other media that capture the personality and energy of UCL Dance. This year I filmed and edited the TD concept video and I think that showcases my ability.

I also bring a strong technical background to the role. My course not only teaches filming and editing skills but also gives me access to filming equipment that could help produce high-quality content for the society. Alongside this, I produce and make music myself, so I would also be happy to help edit music for shows or support dancers who might not feel confident working with audio software.

Overall, I see the Tech Officer role as a creative opportunity to document, promote, and celebrate the work of the society, and I would love to contribute to that.
