Elze Valiunaite

I am Elze, a Management Science student and competitive ballroom dancer, and I am standing for Publicity and Communications Officer because dance has been a huge part of my life and I would love to contribute to the Dance Society by helping promote and strengthen its community. As a World Vice-Champion in the 10 Dance discipline and an 11-time National Champion, I have spent many years in the dance world and understand how important strong communication, visibility, and community are for a successful dance environment.

Alongside my dance background, I also bring strong marketing and organisational experience. During my first year, I served as a Marketing Executive at EFS, where I created social media content and promoted events. I was also the Course Representative for Management Science, which strengthened my communication skills and ability to represent a large group of students.

I have worked in social media with well-known brands such as L’Occitane, The Body Shop, and Burga, gaining experience in brand identity and content creation.

I also managed the social media for Cocktail Lounge Residence, contributing to the design, launch, and promotion of a business that successfully operated. During my internship at the Lithuanian Art Museum Tartle, I designed and launched advertising campaigns.

I am organised, creative, and proactive, and I would love to use my experience to help promote the Dance Society, showcase its events, and keep the community engaged and excited.

I am running for Publicity and Communications Officer because my past experience across creative, leadership and organizational positions best fits the role I am standing for.

My creative foundation started in secondary school, where I joined Campus TV, Photography and Audio-Visual Teams, developing a sharp eye for framing shots and producing engaging content. I am highly skill in Canva and social media, allowing me to hit the ground running designing posters, merch and Fresher’s materials while keeping our feed fresh and on-trend.

Understandably, this role requires more than design skills, but teamwork and reliability. Leading Boarding, Events and Diversity Committees during Sixth Form, I gained collaboration and communication skills with committee members to bring their vision into publicity. As an SU Academic Represent in UCL Geography Department, I learned to actively listen, gather and report information, developing skills essential for answering DMs and writing weekly newsletters that keep member excited and informed.

My leadership experience, recognized through the Ivy House Award, means I won’t just wait for orders, I will proactively pitch ideas and encourage committee members to join trends and ensure Dance Soc remains the most followed society account at UCL

I am ready to make our society bloom and shine. If you have any concerns, feel free to contact me

I think I would make a good publicity and communications officer because me and Canva are in a life long committed relationship, I’m the annoying person who spends way more time on the design of their presentation than the content (I’m joking, kind of) I know my way around the website and I love to design so I promise you will get the best logos, posters and merch from me  (I’ll bring the joggers back), my summer internship was at the NBCC as a communications intern which basically meant that I spent a month calling partners, sending emails (which is very similar to our weekly mailers) and yes making Instagram posts with Canva. I also freelance edit a lot of YouTube-videos including creating their thumbnails on canva. I'm also aware that as a committee member I would have to produce one of the shows which I'm comfortable doing I know its slightly different I had to direct and produce both our house singing and house drama in school, it gave me transferable skills such as organization, clear communication and time management (balancing my workload, rehearsals, social life this year has also helped) especially under pressure. Also being part of a few shows this year has taught me a lot about what goes into running them, helping out backstage with transcendance was a very stressful but rewarding task. Lastly I spend way too much time on Instagram to not answer your and future freshers DM’s and I already go to contemp class basically every week so class duty isn’t an issue.

Kriszti Lin

Hey, I’m Kriszti!

A first year biomedical sciences student. Being part of this society has shown me how important strong communication and creative promotion is in building an engaged, welcoming community. As a fresher, I know that understanding societies can be overwhelming and confusing, especially in the first few weeks of uni, therefore, it’s crucial to show new students, and potential future members a clear description of our society, as well as an organised profile for current members.

I want to use my creativity, organisation skills and precision to showcase everything we do, from classes and socials to performances, in a way that excites current members and attracts new ones. I’m very well organised, reliable, and full of ideas, and I’d be proud to play a key role in shaping how our society presents itself next year.

I appreciate if you vote for me, thank uuu! <33

Lucia Messett

Hi, I’m Lucia and I’d love to be your Publicity & Communications Officer! I love creating art, whether that’s cute posts, writing, or short-form videos. Growing up, a lot of my family history and childhood was documented digitally, and I loved looking back on those photos and videos, so I’d love to turn my ideas into content that lets everyone relive Dance Society memories or inspires new members to join.

I’m a TikTok iPad kid, so making videos, mixing audios, and staring at video analytics is my happy place. I’ve designed posts as TD Marketing Director, made TikToks for my student accommodation, and regularly handle emails, so I’m confident in keeping everyone informed and engaged. Messages will be answered quickly, posts will go out on time, and I can whip up last-minute content if needed. I’d love to bring more behind-the-scenes footage, day-in-the-life features, and ways for members to get involved. I want our social platforms to feel fun, interactive, and aesthetically pleasing, while keeping everyone in the loop.

Kasey Chan

I'm running to be Dance Society's next Publicity & Communications Officer to combine my love for dance with my skills in media content creation, aiming to make our society more visible, inclusive, and welcoming. Firstly, I have a strong background in media and marketing. Most recently, I was the Social Media Content Creator for the History Department's Instagram and have racked up over 30k views in just one term. (wow!) In addition to this, I also managed my high school's senior Instagram @cdnis.classof2025, where I produced over 10 reels. My highlights include featuring in a reel, which gained 10 million views and close to 700k likes (wow x2) as well as producing a reel that hit 2.2 million views with 90k likes (wow x3). I'm also a Canva warrior. I have Canva pro so that guarantees our posts will look professional using the best tools. Secondly, I'm chronically online, I'll use my doomscrolling to ensure our content stays relevant. I also love collaborating; I aim to feature members from across the society in reels (committee or not) to give everyone a chance to debut, making our feed feel representative. I'm also organized and great at time management. Having participated in nearly all shows this year and having missed minimal rehearsals, I am reliable when needing to hit every posting deadline. In this position, I will create relatable dance content to make society feel less intimidating, include everyone in our posts, and design graphics to promote our events! (YAYYY)

Mackenzie Lui

Hiyaa! I’m Mackenzie (Kenzie), a first-year Fine Art student! In the past few months since joining Dance Soc, from competing in comps, being in Freshers Show and Blooms to choreographing for Triple Bill, I’ve met some of the best people, made so many amazing memories, and I’d love to play a part and help promote and highlight this talented community.

Being an arts student, I’d say I’m quite creative and have experience with graphic design and using Canva, Procreate, and Adobe, which I believe will come in handy for the role. I’ve also had the opportunity to design logos for a dance crew under Jam Republic and have some branding and design experience in musical programmes, merch, and Instagram ads. These experiences gave me a lot more insight and skills from both industry and school levels on working and communicating with companies and people, adapting designs to specific needs, meeting tight deadlines efficiently, and getting things done and sent off on time.

I’d like to think I’m organised and am able to manage my time well. I’m also pretty active and easy to contact (aka chronically online lol ;) so there’ll be no problem staying up to date with event schedules for weekly newsletters, reaching me for urgent design needs, or just general promotion and Instagram management!

By running, I hope to help build up the visuals and marketing of the society. Thank you for your consideration, and I’d be honoured if I could have your vote! <3
