Czech and Slovak Society: President

As this year’s president I have managed to follow along in the foot steps of the previous committee, especially in close collaboration with our partner societies at Imperial King’s and LSE and our sponsors. As for events my committee and I have organised events both with other societies, but also events just for UCL (mainly bowling, society lunches and with more to come this year. 

For the first time this year we have managed to closely collaborate with the Czech Embassy in London, mainly on the student debate with H.E. Václav Bartuška, which I would look to continue with for next year to establish an even closer connection with our students and diplomats in London. 

For the first time this year we have been in closer collaboration with the SSEES society, which result in a SSEES ball for students from central and eastern Europe towards the end of term 2.

My focus for next would be to focus more on facilitating events to involve new students in student life at UCL, not only at the beginning of the academic year, like it has been done with the campus tour and picnic, but also through out the year.
