Hello everyone!
I am running for the Outreach Officer position because my personal qualities and academic background can create strong connections between our society and other communities across UCL.
1. As an international student, I know how tough it is to foster connections among people who may initially have almost NOTHING in common. At first, the only things you might share are a university offer and a second language! Yet over time those connections often become some of the strongest ones. This experience has given me a genuine interest in creating meaningful networks.
If elected, I would focus on:
• Organising collaborative events with other societies to connect students with shared interests.
• Increasing the visibility of the Criminal Justice Society across UCL to attract new members.
• Expanding the network of students and professionals involved in our activities.
2. I also bring practical experience in planning activities. I spent several months organising a two-week summer school for around 150 highly talented young economists, many of whom were so brilliant that sometimes they seemed smarter than me. Solving any emerging problems taught me that I enjoy coordinating people and organising projects despite a host of obstacles.
While I cannot solve the broader problem of coordination between criminal justice agencies and social services worldwide, I am confident that I can build strong coordination within our society and others at UCL.
