I believe I would be well suited to the Treasurer role as I enjoy taking responsibility for managing finances and keeping things organised behind the scenes. I’m currently studying Statistics, Economics and Finance, which has strengthened my understanding of budgeting, financial planning and tracking income and expenditure, skills that translate directly to managing the club’s finances responsibly.

Through my extracurricular experience, I’ve developed a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail. As Finance Director for my Young Enterprise company, I managed budgets, monitored spending and ensured the business remained financially sustainable, while also completing admin tasks and reporting clearly to the wider team. This experience has given me confidence in handling records, approving spending sensibly and making sure money is allocated where it adds the most value.

Within the cricket club, I’d aim to keep finances clear and transparent, ensuring all payments and reimbursements follow Students Union processes and that the club stays within budget throughout the season. I’m also happy to support with booking nets, completing key admin forms and keeping the SU website up to date alongside the President. I work well in a team and having represented my county in multiple sports, I understand how important good organisation and financial planning are to ensure the club operates efficiently, sustainably and can continue to provide a great experience for all.

I believe I would be a good fit for Treasurer of UCLCC due to my previous undertaking of leadership roles that have required proper financial responsibility. Through being CFO of FeedFirst, a start-up I was a part of, I developed detailed 3-statement models and forecasted financial transactions made by us. Ultimately, our sound financials and my confidence to back up our financial decisions with data was a key part in acquiring the £1.5k funding offer from external investors. This shows I have prior experience in presenting clear and sound statements and obtaining funding, skills that i’d implement as Treasurer in getting even more external sponsorships for the club next year. Being President of my school’s Economics Society really developed my organisational skills and coordinating with a committee of 5 to raise funding from the school and to promote and raise awareness of the society. Our work helped increase attendance to our society by 300% and allowed us to become the most funded society in our school by the end of the academic year. Being Treasurer of UCLCC, I want to bring my knowledge of financial discipline and combine it with my experience in core leadership roles to make this society even better than it already has been this year.

Cricket is a game of judgment. Knowing when to push the field up, when to consolidate, and when to take calculated risks. Managing a club’s finances isn’t that different. It requires clarity, discipline, and an understanding that small decisions compound over time.

As an Economics major, thinking carefully about money, incentives and trade-offs is something I do every day. Beyond that, I’ve had real responsibility managing budgets and organising large-scale events. As a House Captain at school, I helped oversee sporting events and fundraising initiatives that generated over £10,000. That meant tracking costs, justifying spending and making sure funds were used in ways that genuinely benefited students.

More recently, I’ve built and pitched my own startup, where financial planning isn’t theoretical. Projections, cost control and sustainability determine whether something survives or not. That experience has made me comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets and accountability.

But more importantly, I care about the club. Treasurer for me is more than merely recording transactions. It’s about making sure membership fees translate into tangible value, i.e. better equipment, well-run socials, and long-term financial stability. I’d bring organisation, transparency and a steady hand to the role, ensuring the club is in a stronger position at the end of the year than at the start.

I would love to be the UCLCC treasurer next year so that I can contribute to the running of this great club and community. The cricket club has been one of the best parts, if not the best part, of my university experience so far so I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to get more involved and help make the club even better and allow people to have the same great experience I had when joining this society. I will be sure to keep clear records of club spending and make sure that all administrative work is done swiftly and carefully. Additionally, I have had experience doing work of this sort at school in various leadership roles so I will be sure to be organised and efficient. Furthermore, I would like to make sure the cricket club is constantly growing, gaining new members and becoming increasingly enjoyable to be a part of. If elected, I will be dedicated to the role and I will ensure the smooth running of the club by working closely with the rest of the committee.

I do maths and am extremely picky when it comes to money and am willing to spend the time and energy to do any finances. While not guaranteed I will try with my best effort to try and secure a sponsorship with any company or rothihs parents. I will be very frugal and pedantic when it comes to spending money and will happily organise any dinners and bring in outside money (guests) who will pay more and thus contribute to any dinners. All will be shown at presentation as rn I am limited by the creativity of the language.
