Marketing determines not only how a society is seen, but who feels invited to join in. As Vice President of Marketing, I would shape our brand to embody ambition, credibility and inclusivity, attracting students from every degree who may not yet recognise consulting as a space where they belong.
Through founding and scaling The College Hub, I have designed high-impact infographics, researched platform algorithms and analysed engagement data to maximise reach and conversion. By experimenting with hooks, posting schedules and content structure, I grew a platform to thousands of followers and generated hundreds of thousands of views. This experience taught me effective marketing is both analytical and creative, grounded in data, but driven by clear positioning.
With a background in psychology, I understand how perception shapes identity. By using insights into cognition and bias to craft campaigns that strengthen brand positioning while ensuring consistency across visuals, tone and narrative- aligning the campaign to be creative but purposeful.
Beyond content creation, my leadership experience through Cambridge Consulting Network, Noteroo and society roles have strengthened my ability to manage teams, set clear deliverables and execute long-term strategies. I aim to make UCL Consulting Society the most recognisable and aspirational consulting community on campus, where presence translates directly into opportunity.
Hi! I’m Kush Mittal, and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Vice President of Marketing at the UCL Consulting Society.
Through my involvement in student societies and business competitions, I’ve seen how strong communication and outreach play a crucial role in engaging members and showcasing opportunities within a society. Effective marketing ensures that students are aware of the initiatives, projects, and events that help them develop practical consulting skills.
My Vision:
- Strengthening Society Visibility
I want to enhance the Consulting Society’s presence across platforms by ensuring that events, client projects, and opportunities are clearly communicated and reach a wider audience. - Engaging Content & Storytelling
By highlighting member experiences, project outcomes, and event insights, I hope to create engaging content that showcases the value of the society and encourages greater participation. - Consistent & Professional Branding
I aim to maintain a clear and professional online presence that reflects the society’s focus on consulting, helping attract both members and potential external partners.
Hi everyone! I’m running for Vice President of Marketing for UCL Consulting Society because I want to help showcase the incredible work, opportunities, and community that the society offers.
At my previous school, I was heavily involved in promoting major events. I designed posters for charity events and school initiatives and created promotional videos for large school occasions that were shared across social media to increase engagement and attendance. Through this experience, I developed strong skills in visual design, social media promotion, and creating content that captures people’s attention.
Alongside this, I participated in the term 1 Client Projects consultant within the society, which has given me a strong understanding of the value of the projects and what prospective members are looking for when they join. This perspective would allow me to market the society in a way that clearly communicates the opportunities available; from client projects and case workshops to networking and professional development.
If elected, I would aim to strengthen the society’s online presence through engaging graphics, short promotional videos, and clear communication of upcoming events and opportunities. My goal would be to ensure the society’s marketing reflects the professionalism, impact, and community that make UCL Consulting Society such a valuable experience.
Last term, I ran a simple test. Two posts. Same event. Same audience. One filled the room. One flopped.
Nothing changed except the positioning and timing. That moment summed up exactly why I’m running for VP Marketing.
I have vast experience in marketing and can clearly see that the Consulting Society is going to thrive with smarter branding.
Right now, the opportunity is huge: we already have strong events and serious members. With sharper marketing, we can become the society people are extremely eager to join!
What I will do differently (and measurably):
- Engineer demand: Structured promo waves, scarcity-driven sign-ups, and tighter message framing so our best opportunities feel competitive to access.
- Make the brand quietly premium: Less clutter, more intention. Clean and high-trust visuals that mirror consulting standards.
- Turn outcomes into momentum: When you win case competitions, land roles, or lead projects - we amplify it. Success should compound the society’s reputation!
Most candidates will promise “more visibility.” I am focused on something harder and more valuable:
Making the brand of Consulting Society the most prestigious and competitive!
If that’s the level you want us operating at, I would be honoured to have your vote.
— Rustam
I’m standing for VP Marketing because I’ve consistently worked at the intersection of creativity and strategy, and I’d love to apply that to the Consulting Society.
As Head of Digital Design for my school’s Model UN, I led social media campaigns that reached over 135,000 views on Instagram and directly boosted registrations. That experience taught me how to think beyond aesthetics and to consider audience behaviour, timing, and messaging. As Head of Design for our annual school magazine, Luminous, I coordinated layouts and visual direction across teams, making sure the final product felt cohesive and professional.
At UCL, studying Sociology has strengthened my understanding of how people engage with content and communities. My internships at the Red Lorry Film Festival and Dynamite Design also exposed me to working in fast-paced, collaborative environments where creative ideas had to align with clear objectives.
If elected, I’d focus on building a consistent brand identity, improving event visibility, and using simple analytics to understand what works. My aim is straightforward- make our marketing clearer, more engaging, and more effective so that the society reaches more students and delivers even stronger turnout for its initiatives.
