I am going to make CSS a hub for students to come together to build cool things, make meaningful connections and actually host events.
Having been Head of Sponsorships for the society this year, I am very proud of what we achieved and I'm excited to continue my contribution to grow the society even more next year. This year, I brought in Knowunity as a Silver sponsor for CSS and a Gold sponsor for HackLondon, and hosted a fireside chat with the CTO and an engineer from Knowunity.
My experience this year has prepared me for the next and I am ambitious to bring in even more sponsors, from both big companies as well as startups, and fill the calendar with many more events. I plan to host several socials every term, hackathons, project showcase events (where students can show off their latest projects), fireside chats, talks, workshops, and more.
CSS will be an active society once more; not just relevant once a year, but a society where students eagerly await the next event.
As president, this is my vision. With your vote, I will make it happen.
Hello, World!
I am a second year CS student and also your current CSS VP. I have also been a student rep in my first year. As such, I believe I am in a good position to take on the role of President next year, based on my experience working with the department and listening to various voices around me.
I would love to continue to make CSS a place where any CS student, or anyone even remotely interested in CS, can enjoy their passion freely with peers.
Which is why I am planning to go all-in on more events moving forward. This includes:
- socials which I promise will be fun and have free treats, whilst also allowing you to meet people in different cohorts
- more various mentorships and/or workshops
- LeetCode competitions
- monthly speaker series from CS academics, so you can get direct exposure to the world-class research happening right beside you.
- I have even contacted Department head Prof Danny Alexander and he is in on this!
Let’s make CSS the core of being a CS student at UCL, just like your CPU is the core to your computer.
And that starts with voting me for CSS president.
With Rhin, everyone will win.
