With a diligent eye, drive for communication and the regular persistence of a TFL commuter, I can promise my close involvement and attention for seamless financial management.
- My background in volunteering has strengthened my empathy and communication skills, crucial for ensuring our network’s needs are heard and met.
- I have experience closely inspecting stock and purchase information to write up accurate, well-organised and reliable GRNs, so can guarantee attentively constructed, high-quality financial reports.
- Experience battling TFL daily, avoiding peak times and getting to uni in one piece!
As commuters, it can be difficult to get involved in campus social events. Good financial backing is a must to secure accessible events for all, that form a cherished part of our time at UCL. If elected, I aim to:
- Work closely with our network, listening to all concerns to ensure efficient distribution of funds, optimising running of events and campaigns
- Maintain transparency through effective communication and clear, comprehensive, accessible records of all financial activity
- Work proactively, scrutinising the current picture to foresee potential financial hurdles, strategising to overcome these
As treasurer, I will ensure that every last penny is accounted for to secure funding for accessible and inclusive events that form a valuable part of the student experience.
Over 1/4 of us commute to campus every term, and I am dedicated to helping us strengthen our community here at UCL.
If navigating peak-time train fares has taught me anything, it’s how to track spending with military precision. Hence why as a commuter student, I understand first-hand the financial realities of balancing travel costs and university life.
My Business A-Level and Accounting for Business module has taught me that we must show a ‘true and fair view’ in the financial world, so that’s exactly what I’ll do. I’ll achieve this through my strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to ensuring that funds are handled carefully and fairly.
If elected, I will ensure that the Commuter Students’ Network’s finances are managed responsibly, transparently, and in a way that maximises impact for students. Commuter students already invest significantly in their education (namely through our beloved London Underground) and I want to make sure that every penny of Network funding works as hard as we do.
Vote for me if you want a Treasurer who understands that budgeting isn’t just numbers, but a commitment to making sure commuter students get real value from their Network. Above all, I bring reliability and a practical understanding of what commuter students actually need. If elected, I won’t just balance the books; I’ll make sure they work for you.
