Jen Zhang

I am running for General Secretary. Over the past 3 years, I have actively participated in more than 20 society events and have seen and understood what works should be awarded and considered in an activity, and where we can improve. I believe a clear internal communication, efficient coordination, and accountability within the committee should be marked as a key in taking place every kinds of activities.

As General Secretary, I will focus on building a more organised operational system: clearer documentation, smoother information flow between departments, and better continuity between academic years. I aim to improve meeting efficiency by introducing structured agendas and follow-up action tracking, ensuring that decisions lead to measurable outcomes. I will also work to standardise record-keeping and handover processes so future committees inherit a functional framework rather than starting from scratch.

Beyond administration, I care about member experience. Transparent updates, timely communication, and reliable event planning are basic expectations, not bonuses. If elected, I will prioritise responsibility, consistency, and practical delivery.

Generally, CSSA should be run with clarity, efficiency, and accountability. That is the standard I intend to bring to the role.

Feilu Sun

I am standing for General Secretary because I want to help the Society run more efficiently while continuing to build on the momentum of the past year.

Over the last year, as the president of the Art Troupe and the co-founder of the Chinese Mu-musical society, I have been closely involved in organizing performances, coordinating across different teams, and managing communication between members. This experience showed me how much the success of events depends on clear organisation, timely information sharing, and strong coordination behind the scenes. Through these experiences, I developed a strong sense of responsibility for keeping things structured and running smoothly. I am detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable managing timelines, documentation, and communication across teams.

If elected as General Secretary, I hope to strengthen internal communication, improve documentation and meeting organization, and help ensure that the Society’s projects run smoothly and efficiently. I believe a well-organised executive team allows every department to focus on what they do best and create more meaningful activities for our community.

Qianyun Yang

Hello everyone, my name is Cici Yang, and I currently serve as an Executive Member of the Secretariat. I am running for the position of CSSA General Secretary for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Over the past year, I have been involved in proposal reviews, process coordination, and cross-department collaboration. This experience has shown me that the Secretariat is not only responsible for administrative procedures, but also plays a vital role in connecting departments, coordinating resources, and ensuring that events and initiatives are carried out effectively.

If elected, I aim to further strengthen the Secretariat as a reliable backbone for the organization. My goal is to make processes clearer, collaboration smoother, and resources more effectively coordinated across departments.

My priorities include improving workflow management through early proposal submissions and timely feedback, establishing regular communication with department leaders, and creating clearer channels for cross-department collaboration. I will also work to improve organizational continuity by maintaining shared documentation and updated operational guidelines, while strengthening coordination with the Student Union to secure venues and institutional support.

My goal is for the Secretariat to provide consistent, professional support for every department and help CSSA operate more efficiently and sustainably.

Thank you for your support.
