I have had a great time this year at Chess Society, and I’m sure you did too. But I think we can make it even better next year, and if voted as VP, I promise you the following:
- UPGRADING SOCIALS: Monthly inter-uni friendly matches (#AssertingOurDominance), special nights for Chess variants (Bughouse, 3-Check, Antichess, you name it!) and joint socials and games nights with UCL societies and London chess clubs
- ELOMAXXING OPPORTUNITIES: Training sessions and workshops led by top players within the society, alumni and external professionals.
- MORE WOMEN: I think this one’s self-explanatory
On a more serious note, Chess Society is a super fun community, and I want to make sure everyone feels that warmth from day one, regardless of who they are. More events, more faces, more reasons to show up.
Hi! I’m Kush Mittal (BSc Information Management for Business), and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Vice President of the UCL Chess Society ♟️
Being part of the chess community at UCL has shown me how important a well-coordinated and supportive committee is in creating a great experience for members. As Vice President, I hope to work closely with the committee to ensure events run smoothly and members have the best possible experience within the society.
My Vision:
- Efficient Society Operations
I want to support the committee in organising events, tournaments, and weekly sessions effectively so members can consistently enjoy high-quality chess activities. - More Events for All Skill Levels
From casual blitz nights to competitive tournaments, I aim to ensure that both beginners and experienced players feel equally welcomed and engaged. - Stronger Internal Collaboration
By strengthening communication and collaboration within the committee, we can organise better initiatives and provide more value to society members.
Your moves, your strategy, your UCL Chess — vote Kush to lead the board. ♟️
