Cheese Grater Magazine: Social Secretary

A man-i'd-fist-o? Uh okay,
If elected to Social Secretary I will:
- Plan absolutely bonkers launch parties for our wonderful magazine issues, especially the upcoming CG100 issue
- Organise community events to drive up our engagement with audiences and the scale of our readership
- Ensure the society is exactly that – social. Members should always have events to look forward to and opportunities to meet and make friends with like-minded students
- keep you all VERY hydrated. Plenty of drinks. (please don't consume alcohol irresponsibly bc that's a headache for the welfare officer)

An example of a community event could be a Mock the Week or Wait Wait Don't Tell Me-style news quiz, where players compete to answer rounds of questions based on news and events reported on by the Cheese Grater. The winning team could be rewarded with a cash prize, and ideally such an event would take place in a Union bar with a lively atmosphere and plenty to drink. This would hopefully encourage people to read the Cheese Grater's online and print stories, and ensure the student body is more aware of our society as well as the important news we cover.

You though I was done with The Cheese Grater?? I'm not leaving..... I'M NOT FUCKING LEAVING. THE SHOW GOES ON. THEY'RE GONNA NEED TO SEND IN THE NATIONAL GUARD OR FUCKING SWAT TEAM CUZ I AIN'T GOING NOWHERE.

If YOU, dear member, vote for me, I will guarantee COFFEE MORNINGS, PUB CRAWLS (standard as well as themed ones, just to spice it up a bit), COLLABS (personally I'm eyeing up Cheese & Wine Society), and more.... Essentially what I'm trying to say is there will be lots of beer involved as well as #alcohol-free beverages. I understand there's many people that don't drink and that it's sometimes hard to find fun sober socials but I have some ideas brewing..... Don't you worry your cheesy little head.

Whilst many people join to get involved with the publications, I know there's some who join to mainly socialise and find their people (#me #relatable) so I'm dedicated to providing plenty of opportunities for members to meet new people/have excuses to see their cheesy friends. Of course, I'm open to everyone's ideas for potential socials!
