As Sketch Director, I promise:
- More shows and events! The Graters are an integral part of the magazine and wider UCL acting scene, and I am determined to make sure we live up to that
- I will not be repeating jokes made in previous sketch director manifestos
- Continuity with the bets parts of the current Graters era. The past year has seen the first ever Graters show at the Bloomsbury Studio, and we have since been asked to perform at several events. I intend to make that happen again.
- I aim to increase the number of shows per year, giving more opportunities for our writers and performers to showcase their incredible work. This will also help fund further events.
- I will not be repeating jokes made in previous sketch director manifestos
- More community engagement to help spread the name of the UCL Graters far and wide!
I've loved acting in all the Graters' shows this year, and I'd love to make sure we can carry on putting on bringing audiences to places like Weehawken, NJ, a corner shop, a flat kitchen, and the Student Centre bogs.
I'd like to think I'm reasonably funny, and I'm also capable of sending emails, so I'm sure I'd be fantastic at both the creative and admin sides of the role.
On a more serious note (boo, hiss), I've loved Robin and Carla's work this year, especially leading meetings: their helping train new writing and acting talent through editing scripts and providing acting tips has really helped me this year, and I'd love to pay it forward next year.
I'd also like to insert the Graters into the consciousness of the wider society by going to Satire meetings with a big net, capturing the writers, and chaining them to typewriters to make scripts for us working with the Humour editors to encourage more people to write scripts for us, so people who are less comfortable on a stage can still muck in.
Joining the Graters this year has been great fun (despite some of the things you made me do in Goudafellas, Carla and Seth) and really improved my acting confidence, and I'd love to make sure that people next year can experience what I have.
I write sketches about posh people, jizz and 9/11.
Vote for me if you want more sketches about posh people, jizz and 9/11.
