Business Society: VP of Social Enterprise

Hi, I'm Felix, and I'm running for Vice-President of Social Enterprises because I think proving that a business can be profitable, sustainable, and purpose-driven all at once is just as exciting as chasing a grad scheme (even though we all are). Before coming to UCL, I helped run a student social enterprise, and honestly, it kind of changed the way I think about business. Figuring out how to keep a venture financially afloat while staying true to its mission, and watching it actually work, was probably the most rewarding thing I've done. I want to bring that same energy here. Because let's be real, social entrepreneurship can sound like one of those buzzwords that gets thrown around in a lecture and forgotten about by lunchtime, and career societies don't always feel like the most welcoming space to explore it. I want to change that. I'm talking workshops, speaker events, and actual hands-on projects where you can get stuck in and build something meaningful, no matter what you study or what your background is. You shouldn't need to know what a "theory of change" is to get involved; you just need to care. I'm genuinely committed to making this role about opening doors, not gatekeeping them. I'd really appreciate your vote.

Hi! I’m Kush Mittal (BSc Information Management for Business), and I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Vice President of Social Enterprise at the UCL Business Society.

As a First Year Representative in the UCL Business Society, I have supported the organisation of competitions and initiatives, helping deliver events and engage students in practical business experiences. I also participated in the UCL Business Games with EY-Parthenon, where my team was awarded 1st place, strengthening my interest in how business can create both economic and social value.

My Vision:

Expanding Social Impact Conversations
Building on the society’s existing initiatives, I hope to further develop speaker events and discussions with social entrepreneurs, investors, and leaders in impact-driven organisations. These conversations can give students deeper insight into how businesses address real social and environmental challenges while remaining sustainable.

Enhancing Practical Opportunities
By strengthening workshops, competitions, and collaborative initiatives focused on social enterprise, I want members to gain hands-on exposure to solving real-world challenges through business.

Encouraging Broader Engagement
By working with other divisions within the society, I aim to encourage more students to explore the intersection of entrepreneurship, business, and social impact.

I am standing for Vice President of Social Enterprise because I have already worked within the role and understand its potential. As First Year Representative, I have seen what engages students and where we can do better. Social enterprise should not feel niche within the Business Society. It should be one of its strongest pillars. I want to provide clearer direction, stronger founder partnerships, and more practical opportunities for students to work on real-impact projects.
