Bubble Tea Society: Social Media Officer

The bubble tea society holds a special place in my heart and played a big role in my university experience. In my first year, I went to one of the bubble tea speed friending events and ended up meeting an incredible group of people who I was later able to call my friends. We met regularly, and for the first time at uni, I felt a genuine sense of belonging. This society is a warm and friendly community, and with every event I was left feeling joyous and fulfilled. I would love to capture and share that same energy so that others can experience that same sense of connection.

Through my experience working with a marketing agency managing client social media accounts, I developed strong content creation, editing and branding skills. Alongside this, I pursue my passion for videography and video editing by filming my travels and creative events while also starting up my own creative brand. This has strengthened my storytelling skills and my ability to capture authentic moments.

I'd introduce a “Member Spotlight” series to highlight different members and their favourite bubble tea orders, giving a sense of community. I would also make short event recap reels to capture the atmosphere and joy of each event, behind the scene reels and carousels, creating excitement for future events. Additionally, I'd make use of the instagram story features like polls, questions and countdowns to increase engagement with the bubble tea community.

I'd approach this role with enthusiasm and creativity! 

I'm running for the bubble tea soc social media officer because I take two things very seriously: my Instagram and good bubble tea. I constantly find myself trying new bubble tea spots and flavors to find the best one. So far, I've stuck to the original boba milk tea or the taro boba milk tea. Being the social media rep, I can share all our wonderful recs or help convince you to come bubble tea hunting or to one of the events. In the past, I've worked as the outreach head for an MUN, and I was in charge of their Instagram and other media platforms. So it is safe to say that I have a lot of experience in shooting reels, designing posts and making them fun and unique. If given the position, you can be sure that bubble tea soc will definitely pop up on your feed!
