As a non-medic, I joined RUMS Boat Club by happenstance. I was searching for a rowing club, and I found plenty of technical rowing. But I also found close friends, and some of the most fun outings I’ve ever had. I want to carry forward this legacy. A space where people can row, have fun, and meet lifelong friends. Technical rowing without the toxic vibes. Here is how I want to keep the momentum growing:

Technical Development

With my 10 years of rowing experience (I started young, I’m not that old xx) I can work in tandem with John to help everyone reach their fullest potential:
- 1:1 and crew feedback with high quality video
- Saturday outings in shorter boats where we can really dial in your movements on the water
- Regular stretching sessions

Drive AND Recovery

I have proven that I have the drive to attend every outing, every ergo sesh and I can drive the squad through example. But burnout is real, and not a RUMS vibe. Leave the planning to an engineer:
- more water time, less faff on the hard
- regular planning sessions, not “can u row?” texts
- and if it gets too much, we can scale the intensity to what feels good to you

I have the experience rowing and coaching to lead the men’s squad, the drive to attend every practice and every ergo, and the engineering mindset to streamline admin.

Above all, I want us to enjoy rowing - and win in the process!! So I’m open to dialogue. Need more feedback? Less? Feel demotivated? Want more outings? Talk to me. Together, we will make it happen 💛🩵
