I have really enjoyed my first year in boat club and had a great time meeting so many new poeple! I would love to have the opportunity to have a committee role next year and be more involved in the society! I think I would be best suited to Fundraiser as I have really enjoyed a mixture of charity events within and outside boat club this year, for example scrubs run, my half marathon and of course Ergathon!! I think the work that boat club does for charity is an amazing way for us to give back but also have great fun and all get involved together as a team. I would really like to have a role in organising these events to raise lots of money next year as well as helping organise amazing kit and believe that I have the necessary organisational and communication skills to do so.

Hi again,

RUMSBC has been so fun this year, and I’d love the chance to give something back by helping the club raise money for some really meaningful causes while bringing everyone together along the way.

If elected, I’d love to organise a mix of fun, slightly chaotic, and genuinely impactful fundraisers that get as many people involved as possible.

A few ideas I’d love to bring in include:

  • 25 hour ergathon????
  • Themed fundraising socials
  • Collaborations with other RUMS clubs and societies

I promise to get RUMSBC some killer kit. Maybe even add a cheeky specialised fleece.

Most importantly, I’d love to help RUMSBC continue supporting charities that matter to us, while creating some great memories along the way.

Joining RUMSBC has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve made at university. The socials, the people, and getting to grips with rowing have all been a great experience (even the caught 🦀s!) and I’ve really loved being part of it. Now I want to get more involved and take on a role within the club.

I’m standing for Fundraising & Kit Officer because I believe my experience and enthusiasm make me well suited for the position. At school and sixth form, I served as RAG (Raising and Giving) Rep, where I organised charity fundraising events, promoted campaigns, and liaised with external organisations and charities. This gave me hands on experience in event planning, outreach, and driving engagement - skills I’m eager to bring to boat club.

Beyond my fundraising background, I really enjoy being creative. Outside of university, I enjoy sewing and making accessories, reflecting both my eye for detail and my love of making things look great. I’d love to channel that creativity into designing and sourcing kit that our members are proud to wear, as well as coming up with fresh and engaging fundraising ideas.

I really care about this club and everything that’s been built here. As Fundraising and Kit Officer, I’d look to build on the great work already done : continuing traditions, finding new fundraising opportunities and making sure our kit continues to be something everyone is proud to wear and represent!

So vote for me to raise insane funds & electric kit 💛💙

I am standing for a committee role as after being a member of RUMSBC for 6 months now, I have fallen in love with the club. Not only the action of rowing but the people that come with it. I want to give back to the club.

It is our job to care and provide for our community. One of the best ways to do this is by fundraising and donating to respective causes. I was greatly inspired by how we all came together to reach, and exceed, our fundraising goal for the ergathon. Not only did that event help the Royal Free charity financially, but it allowed us to become closer together as a club and strengthen our bonds. I want to carry on these kind of events and keep continuity in our public appearances.

My past experiences with fundraising will help me greatly in this role. Over the years, I have learnt what methods do and don't work on a group of people. I know that one of the most important things is genuine faith and knowledge in the cause you are promoting. I will bring that attitude. Furthermore, teamwork is essential in fundraising and I greatly enjoy working in a team. Whether that is working with another fundraising officer or liasing with other committee members (for example, social media officer and social secretary)

I hope you will consider me for the fundraising role!
