Barbell Club: Treasurer

One of the biggest highlights of my second year at UCL has been being a part of the Barbell Club. The environment has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, and learning and training alongside the club has been an amazing journey. I'm running for treasurer because I hope to give back to the club in a way that I am well-suited for, by supporting our inclusive atmosphere so that returning members and new faces alike can experience the same great club I did this year.

When it comes to the actual duties of the treasurer, I am highly prepared to manage our club's finances smoothly and transparently. As an Economics and Statistics student, working with numbers, budgets and spreadsheets is very familiar to me, coupled with prior work experience, which has directly accustomed me to managing accounts and financial statements. You can trust that in my hands, the club's funding and equipment allocations will be in good hands.

Finally, I understand that being on the committee is much more than simply making sure that the books balance. It is about being a member of a team and contributing to the overall success of the club. Whether it's helping set up for competitions or taking the load off other committee members when things get busy, I am fully committed to putting in the time and effort required to ensure this club runs smoothly.
