Why should you vote me as Treasurer? 

Because exciting events don’t just happen, they’re budgeted. As First Year Rep, I’ve seen how much potential our bsoc has.

I want to introduce a clear financial plan to carry out the following:

• Fund MORE events without raising ticket prices - This funding wouldn't come from nowhere. I plan to make applications for different grants from the Students’ Union to fund more cultural events for our BSoc.

• Secure partnerships with Bengali-owned businesses - As you probably know, London is the home of a wide range of successful Bengali-owned businesses. I want to collaborate with some of them to provide our BSoc with event sponsorships, discounts for members, prize funding for competitions, etc. 

• Allocate money fairly across sports, culture and inter-uni events - I want to introduce clear termly budgeting so that money is distributed across all areas of BSoc rather than being spent reactively. My aim is to make sure no focus area is overlooked.

I want structured budgeting at the start of term, clear projections, and smarter spending so we can confidently host bigger events like an Inter-Uni Olympics and a Great Bangla Bake-off. Whether I am elected as president, treasurer or neither, I'll spend lots of time and effort into making sure the BSoc experience is the best I can help it become.
