I'm running for Kit Secretary because having the right equipment and kit plays an important role in making sure the club runs smoothly for both social and team players. As Kit Secretary, I would aim to ensure that the process of ordering and purchasing kit is well organised and operated smoothly for all members. I would also make sure that the distribution of kits after purchase will be efficient and systematic so that members who have purchased items know when and where to collect them, and I will be ready to communicate with players in the case where my assistance is required.
I would work closely with the rest of the committee to make sure kit orders are managed efficiently throughout the year. I would also be open to feedback from members about the types of kit they would prefer or any improvements that could be made to the process so that the club continues to meet the needs of its members. Overall, I would aim to ensure that kit ordering and distribution runs smoothly so members can focus on enjoying badminton and being part of the club.
Hi everyone! I’m Rachel and I’m a first-year studying Biomedical Engineering. Representing UCL in competition, I understand how important professionalism is, not just in performance, but also in presentation. When we step onto court, we aren’t just individuals, but a team, representing the university and the society. As Kit Secretary, I will approach the role with precision and accountability. I will ensure clear communication around ordering timelines, sizing, and payments, while proactively planning to avoid last-minute issues. Beyond logistics, I see kit as a key part of our brand as a club. I would aim to create designs that are professional, cohesive, and something all members genuinely feel confident wearing. Excited to design some merch for all of you next year!
My experience in team management and student leadership has prepared me to make the club’s equipment system efficient, transparent and reliable.
In high school, I coordinated friendly matches, communicated with coaches and managed the ordering and distribution of team uniforms. I understand that clear organisation prevents confusion and builds trust. Beyond sports, I served as Vice President of the Publicity Department, where I handled event promotion, internal communication and design coordination. This strengthened my ability to organise information clearly and communicate effectively.
If elected as Kit Secretary, I will focus on three priorities:
1. Structured ordering process – Early announcements, online size forms and clear deadlines to reduce late submissions and confusion.
2. Accurate record-keeping – Maintaining organised spreadsheets to track orders, payments and distributions, ensuring fairness and accountability.
3. Strengthening team identity – Working with captains and members to maintain professional, unified and functional kit design.
As both a player and a former team manager, I understand the importance of reliability behind the scenes. I am organised, detail-oriented and committed to serving the club with consistency and responsibility.
