Having been a part of Asiatic Affairs this year, I have appreciated the society as an opportunity for conversation, awareness, cultural understanding and friendship. Asia’s growing influence in the geopolitical realm makes informed dialogue more important than ever, and I believe our society can provide a space for critical engagement
My key priorities as President would be to expand the society’s impact across the university through the organisation of embassy visits, collaborative initiatives with other societies and greater outreach to students from diverse disciplines. Having worked with Asiatic Affair’s writer’s group closely as a podcaster for the Voices of Asia, I aim to increase the visibility of our writers and creators, and to work closely with the team to ensure our work reaches a wider audience both within and beyond the university. As a Politics and International Relations undergraduate, I am always looking for opportunities for widening my perspective on the world. Therefore as president, I hope to create more opportunities for cultural exchange led by myself and society members, given the diversity across the continent.
It would be an honour to be entrusted with the role of President. I am committed to serving the society with enthusiasm, openness and dedication, ensuring that Asiatic Affairs continues to be an inclusive, intellectually vibrant and impactful community.
