The Asia-Pacific Law Society encourages discussions on the Global South and the legal and policy issues it faces. As an Indian International student and as someone who has previously held positions of leadership, including serving as the Head Girl of the school, I am keen to not only contribute to these discussions but also encourage and foster them. This can only happen when they feel adequately represented and heard. As Regional Leader for India, I aim to build structured opportunities for professional and personal growth. I propose launching an Indian Law Network Series to connect students with legal professionals, industry specialists, and entrepreneurs across the Asia-Pacific region. Through interactive sessions, students would gain insight into diverse career pathways and better navigate decisions, particularly if they are considering returning to India after gaining international experience. In addition, I plan to host practical workshops on professional development and networking. Effective networking is rarely taught formally, yet it is essential in the legal profession. These sessions would focus on building authentic relationships and engaging confidently with mentors and professionals. One of the most important things I want to do is help you build a community for yourself in a place far from home by connecting you with seniors and advocating for you, us and your interests. I offer you genuine accountability, representation and support, not just big words.
