University isn’t just lectures and deadlines — it’s the moments in between. The conversations that start after class and somehow last an hour. The study sessions that turn into everyone laughing over the same impossible problem set. The moments when someone suddenly says, “this is such a vibe.” Those are the moments that become our core memories. That’s why I’m running for President of the Arts & Sciences Society.

Arts & Sciences is one of the most unique courses at UCL. We move between disciplines, perspectives, and ideas every day. I strongly believe our society should reflect that same energy—a place where curiosity, creativity, and community come together beyond lectures. As President, I want to build more of those moments for us, through socials, interdisciplinary talks, collaborative study spaces, and opportunities for our cohort to genuinely connect.

And of course, I will protect this at all costs: Donut Thursdays. Because sometimes the best conversations, ideas, and friendships start with a donut. Most importantly, I want our time in this course to become something we’ll look back on years from now and think, that was such a special community to be part of.

So, keep the ideas flowing and the donuts coming — Amy Kyuri Kim for President.

Sandali Narasinghe

Hey BASc-ers, I’m Sandali, and I am running for President because during my time here this community (and the common room) has grown to be such a special place for me and I want to continue to help it grow stronger!

What makes BASc so unique (besides never ending interdisciplinarity) is how we are able to tackle so many different academic worlds whilst being spread across different departments. As President, my priority would be to ensure that every person in BASc feels connected.

I want to focus on continuing to bring us together. Pushing further classic events like the Boat Party and  Ball but also introducing more regular socials and other events like pub nights, picnics, games and more. I also want to incorporate more career events and workshops with both current students and alumni to help navigate your academic and career journey and build a strong network.

I am confident I can step up to this role as I have held committee positions before. Through my roles from Student Ambassador to working with the Students’ Union I have the necessary skills to lead and work well within a team. I am prepared to advocate for us and ensure any feedback is heard by the department to help build the best experience.

Most importantly, I care deeply about this community and want everyone to feel they belong here. My favourite thing about this course is truly the people and how friendly everyone is and I want to give back to you all.

Thank you for reading and I would love your support! <3
