Art Society: President

Hi everyone!

I’m running for Art Society President again after focusing on the COMPOST zine I started 2 years ago.

During my time, I introduced more socials, including our Thursday socials and the much-loved Drink & Draws. If you’ve been to life drawing, you probably also know me as the one who shouts the announcements at the end!

This year, I want to focus on getting back to the heart of making art while building an even stronger community.

Here’s what I want to do:

• Bring back traditional classes like oil painting and watercolour
• Run practical sessions that actually teach drawing techniques and help people build skills
• Create an open studio space where students can drop in, use materials, and work on their own art
• Secure a regular, reliable space for life drawing so there’s no more confusion each week
• Continue hosting relaxed socials so people can meet, make art, and feel part of something

My goal is simple: make Art Society welcoming, creative, and a place where beginners and experienced artists alike can show up, make things, and find their people.

Let’s build a real community and make Art Society great again.
