Nandini Dasgupta

I’m standing for Treasurer because I believe Amnesty International’s work is incredibly important, and I would love to contribute in a way that supports the society’s impact behind the scenes.

As someone with strong organisational skills and a real sense of responsibility, I understand that managing society funds is about trust and transparency. Through three years of piano teaching and organising a recital for 30 students, I’ve gained experience handling payments, coordinating logistics, and ensuring everything runs smoothly and responsibly. These experiences required careful planning and clear communication.

Balancing teaching alongside a Chemistry degree has strengthened my time management and attention to detail, and taking an accounting module has given me confidence in working with budgets and understanding basic financial principles. I feel comfortable using spreadsheets and tracking expenses accurately.

If elected, I would prioritise transparency, careful budgeting, and ensuring funds are allocated effectively to support campaigns, events, and outreach initiatives. I understand that strong financial management enables the society to focus on what matters most — advocating for human rights and creating meaningful change.

I would approach the role with reliability, integrity, and a genuine commitment to supporting the society’s mission.
