As a rising second-year student in Politics & International Relations from Hong Kong, I am standing for the role of Secretary of the Amnesty International Society because I deeply believe in the importance of collective action in the increasingly urgent fight for human rights. Amnesty plays an indispensable role in turning our concern as students into meaningful impact, and I sincerely hope to contribute to this cause through the role of Secretary.

Having previously served as Vice Head Girl and held various leadership positions across student advocacy organisations, I am experienced and capable in record-keeping, handling administrative tasks, and coordinating internal communications efficiently and transparently. Clear communication and strong organisation are so important for effective advocacy, and I would strive to maintain clear records, circulate timely updates, and ensure society events are well-coordinated so that our fellow members always feel informed and able to participate. Through initiatives such as the Defend Dissent Campaign and different pressing human rights demonstrations, I hope to help create a welcoming, impactful space where both our new and returning members can engage with our society’s activities.

I would be honoured to be given the chance to work towards creating an active voice for human rights on campus. Thank you so much for your time!
