I would love to be your next Welfare Officer because I care deeply about the wellbeing, inclusion, and sense of belonging our African Caribbean Society can create. ACS is a community, and I've experienced firsthand how it can singlehandedly help foster deep connections with people of similar backgrounds to you, something I find to be invaluable. I’ve genuinely enjoyed taking part in ACS activities, and I know how powerful it is to be in spaces where you feel seen, understood, and celebrated.

As Welfare Officer, I would help ensure that every student who joins feels included, welcomed, and valued from the very beginning. University can be really overwhelming, especially at first and for many of us, finding culturally affirming spaces makes all the difference. I want to be someone people can turn to — a safe haven, a listening ear, and a supportive presence when they need it most. ACS events, such as the first games night, really helped to break the ice for so many of us, making us feel more settled in, and I would love to be part of the team that actively takes onboard any feedback and helps to make the overall experience even better for all.

I care about our community, and I would be honoured to help foster a supportive, welcoming, and empowering space for everyone. I’m approachable, reliable, and I would be committed to creating an environment where people feel comfortable speaking openly. ACS helped me create many friendships, and I would love to help others do the same.
