My time serving as First-Year Representative in ACS has prepared me to take on the responsibility of President with confidence, clarity, and commitment. Being on committee has given me real insight into the dedication, organisation, and teamwork required to run a society like ours. I have been actively involved behind the scenes: supporting events, contributing ideas, listening to feedback, and ensuring first years felt welcomed, represented, and included. This experience has strengthened my commitment to ACS and inspired me to take on greater responsibility and continue building on this work next year as President.
As someone who is from Nigeria and lived there for half my life before moving to the UK for school, creating spaces for the African and Caribbean diaspora abroad is deeply personal to me. I understand how important it is to find community away from home, and I want ACS to continue being that space of belonging, pride, and connection.
ACS has shaped my first year in the best way. I have loved our Meet’n’Eats, bowling nights, pub quizzes, and events like Take Me Out. As President, I want to keep that energy while ensuring our events remain inclusive, impactful, and fun for every member. If you want a President who is committed, experienced, and ready to build on the legacy of ACS, vote for Nneka.
Why (obviously) you should vote Davina for ACS presido!
I’m running for ACS president because I truly believe I am the best choice for this role, for manyyy reasons. Not just because i’m funny and cool and whatnot, but because I deeply care about this community and what it represents.
ACS is more than just a society to me, it’s a space where culture is celebrated and lifelong friendships are formed. I have attended majority of the ACS events this year and have seen first hand how powerful this community can be at its best. I’ve experienced all, the energy, packed rooms, laughter. This is something I am passionate about maintaining in this society.
One of the main reasons i believe id be best suited for president is because I have been consistently present. I have connected with many members already at ACS, and therefore I understand what makes events successful and where they can be improved.
In addition to this, i know a lot of people across different friend groups and year groups, which would help me connect ACS even more. It should always feel open and welcoming for everyone no matter the age or ethnicity. I also think I have the right personality to make an amazing president, I’m outgoing, extroverted and always willing to help. I want to be the type of president that people can freely talk to, joke to and share ideas with.
Vote for Dav! 🙈
Hi ACS! I’m running to be your next President, and I want to make our community bigger, stronger, and more vibrant. As a woman of Afro-Caribbean heritage, I know how important it is to have a space where Black students can thrive, connect, and celebrate who we are authentically. UCL doesn’t have the largest Black community, but together, we can grow it and make UCL a university where black people know they can attend and feel included, safe, and supported.
I want to create a space where Black men and women feel proud, empowered, and heard. That means more fun ACS events celebrating Afro-Caribbean culture. Ideas such as Afro-Caribbean music nights, food festivals, sports days, games nights, spoken word and poetry sessions, and Black cinema nights. I want our society to be the place where friendships are made, voices are amplified, and our culture is celebrated every week, not just on special occasions.
I know how to make things happen. At sixth form, I led the social committee, organising prom, Valentine’s Day parties, costume events, and more. I have had this desire for planning events and leadership from a young age. In secondary school, I organised my school’s first-ever Culture Day, which has now become an annual tradition. I love creating spaces where people feel included, have fun, and can celebrate culture and I want to bring that energy to ACS as president.
