Women's Engineering Society: Treasurer

Hi! I’m Carla, a Biomedical Engineering student, and I’m incredibly excited to run for Treasurer of UCLWES. Managing finances isn’t just about tracking numbers—it’s about creating opportunities that allow our society to grow and provide even better experiences for our members.

Over the past year, my involvement in UCLES as First-Year Representative has given me invaluable insight into how societies operate and what it truly means to be part of a committee. I’ve seen firsthand the impact that strategic financial decisions can have, from expanding events to strengthening collaborations. Now, I want to bring that knowledge and ensure UCLWES thrives financially, making sure that every pound spent delivers the greatest value to our members.

For me, being Treasurer means more than just maintaining spreadsheets. It’s about transparency, responsibility, and efficiency—ensuring our finances are clear, well-managed, and strategically allocated so we can continue to host impactful events and develop exciting new initiatives.

Beyond numbers, I am passionate about fostering a stronger engineering community where every student benefits from the society’s opportunities. I believe my dedication, organizational skills, and strategic mindset make me a great fit for this role.
