Hello everyone, my name is Abbie and I'm a 2nd Year Psychology and Education student from Cardiff!
Being part of the Welsh Society has been an incredible experience, and serving as Events Coordinator this year has only strengthened my passion for our community. Organising events like the pub crawl and pub quizzes was a highlight, bringing people together to celebrate Welsh culture in a fun and welcoming way. The London Welsh Centre big university social was one of my favourite events in first year. I actually met some of my best friends from Uni there and so I would love to bring that back next year.
As President, I would also love to build on this by introducing more themed socials—whether it’s a pub bingo, St. David’s Day celebrations, or a Welsh music night. I also want to expand collaborations with other societies, giving members the chance to meet new people while still socialising and celebrating being Welsh in the Big Smoke!
Above all, I want to make sure the society remains inclusive, engaging, and fun, providing a home away from home for Welsh students and anyone who loves Welsh culture. With my experience and enthusiasm, I’m ready to lead the society into another amazing year!
