As a Volunteering Officer, I will bring a lifelong commitment to service, impactful leadership, and an understanding of meaningful volunteering. My experiences including spending weeks working at a refugee camp taught me that volunteering is not about charity but solidarity and standing alongside communities, not above them. In Tanzania, I supported survivors of domestic violence and children ostracised due to HIV. As Head Boy, I led charity initiatives and championed diversity. I turn empathy into action and will make UCL’s volunteering network more inclusive, accessible, and impactful.
I will expand accessible international volunteering opportunities that allow students to give back while enhancing career prospects and allowing people to travel and learn about different cultures. No student should be excluded due to financial constraints, so I will prioritise inclusivity and accessibility. Volunteering at UCL should be flexible, fulfilling, and rewarding for all. With my passion, experience, and commitment to social impact, I will strengthen UCL’s volunteering network; ensuring every student, regardless of background, can engage in meaningful work that drives real change.
I act I don’t just talk. I have all the skills I need to be able to do the best job. I don’t just believe in service—I live it. My ability to turn empathy into action, create inclusive volunteering opportunities, and ensure that service is meaningful rather than performative makes me the ideal candidate. If elected, I will ensure that every student has the opportunity to engage with causes that truly matter. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or looking to get involved for the first time, I will ensure that UCL’s volunteering initiatives empower both students and the communities they serve.

WHY US? We’re DIFFERENT w/ no saviour complexes—just equity, action, + legacy!

Being part of UCL for the past two years has been an incredible experience, and I’d love to contribute as part of the team! My three years of coaching at summer camps strengthened my leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability. As a Leo Club member in Turkey, I gained experience in event planning, presentations, and teamwork. Serving as a Student Representative enhanced my communication and organizational skills. Volunteering with Zero Food Waste and Salsa Outreach deepened my passion for community work. As Volunteering Officer, I’d bring energy, organization, and inclusivity to the role!
I want to make volunteering more accessible by expanding outreach, marketing, and opportunities for all students. UCL’s volunteering service is highly active, but I’d love to introduce on-campus initiatives like supporting homeless individuals, providing food and education, or assisting immigrants in London. I acknowledge that some opportunities may require professional guidance or collaboration with experienced societies and am willing to address these. My goal is to create an inclusive environment where every student can easily find a volunteering opportunity that resonates with them.
Being immersed in many volunteering opportunities throughout life, I believe that I gained valuable hands-on experiences. Knowing how volunteering works as well as how to organise them or to communicate with people, I believe I would be a strong candidate. Last year, when we caused changes in our course, serving as an Student Rep, I understood that change is always possible, and I believe in it and in our amazing community of students! I can ensure everyone that I will do my best to be open to new ideas, new faces and new experiences! Join me, and let’s get in this together and thrive at UCL!

I bring nearly 10 years of experience in the charity sector, having worked with organisations like Centre Point, Partnership for Young London, and Human Appeal. Currently, I manage two teams of young volunteers at Partnership for Young London, overseeing research initiatives.
My volunteer management approach has been recognised for its impact, leading to features in prominent media outlets such as LBC, Times Radio, and TED Talk events. These experiences highlight my ability to inspire, lead, and drive meaningful change in the sector.
If elected, I will focus on optimizing student voice in volunteering by organising workshops and events that highlight the importance of volunteering in society. I will work on establishing partnerships with corporations for pro bono opportunities, helping students gain experience while supporting the volunteering sector.
Additionally, I will foster collaboration between clubs and societies by creating digital and in-person platforms for shared projects and initiatives, encouraging students to work together on meaningful causes, and expanding their networks for future success !
Volunteering is more than a task to me—it's a passion!
I pledge to make volunteering a sustainable path to work, opportunities, and personal growth. As a working-class, British-Bangladeshi woman, I understand the power of representation in the sector and the impact volunteering has on society.
I will champion student voice and collaboration, ensuring every student feels heard. Having always felt overlooked myself, I promise to always listen with an open heart and amplify the voices of all students.
Let's make volunteering count!

I volunteer part time in a charity that helps refugees and my role is to tutor a fourteen year old girl in her science and maths studies. This experience helps to expand my organisation, time management and communication skills as well as my problem solving abilities. I am faced with new challenges every week which requires me to be adaptable as I work through them with the guidance of my supervisors. In this role, I will support and guide students throughout their volunteering journey by helping them develop valuable transferable skills that will benefit their future careers.
I will highlight the transferable skills that can be gained from volunteering and ensure that more students find a cause that resonates with them. I want to show that there is a volunteering role for everyone that can fit their interests and schedule. Additionally, I will amplify the voices of our volunteers, celebrating their dedication and providing a platform to promote the charities they support. As a volunteer myself, I know that these are necessary to have which is why my goal is to foster a culture where volunteering is accessible, valued, and rewarding for all.
I am approachable and understanding of the diverse motivations that would have driven people to their voluntary roles. That’s why I want to be a voice for those who contribute their time to meaningful causes, working together with them to ensure they receive the recognition and appreciation they deserve. If elected, I will work to create a platform that not only celebrates current volunteers but also showcases different volunteering opportunities that can inspire others to get involved.

As a Student Volunteering Officer, I would bring a combination of enthusiasm, organizational skills, and a genuine passion for community engagement. I love to volunteer because it is a means for me to demonstrate my compassion and support to society. As volunteering officer, I would effectively communicate with students, staff, and external organizations to promote volunteering opportunities and ensure everyone is informed and engaged. Working with Sabbatical Officers, I will champion organizing events, campaigns, and initiatives that encourage student participation in volunteering.
It will be my mission to increase student participation in volunteering activities. I will do so by liaising with the various student unions and sabbatical officers to identify areas where maximum impact can be made. Students will also be given the options to propose areas of interest where volunteering service can be offered. I hope to improve the conditions for volunteers as they participate in the activities, so they become ambassadors of volunteering.
Students should vote for because I bring a whole new vibe to how volunteering is done. I present a strong voice for student, and I am ever determined to seek a better and exciting conditions for volunteers. As I volunteered for a recent activity at the Queen Elizabeth Part, I realized there is more room for improvement, and I as a result-oriented person, I am the person that can make it happen. Despite with experience in volunteering activities, I will have a listening ear to the concerns of student and work together.
