Election post

I am standing for Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery Chair to strengthen collaboration between ICSM, GKT, and Barts T&O societies. Expanding these links will enhance members’ access to trauma exposure, particularly in hospitals like the Royal London, outside UCL’s hospital trust. This will also increase our presence at key events like the ICSM International Trauma Conference and iNUGS, providing valuable learning and networking opportunities. I aim to expand student involvement in orthopaedic simulation research through the Royal Free Orthopaedic Department, ensuring early exposure to cutting-edge training. I will also promote attendance at orthopaedic society dinners, where students can connect with leading surgeons. These subsidized events ensure accessibility while fostering professional growth.
I am committed to delivering high-quality tutorials for pre-clinical students, particularly MMB tutorials. To improve society operations, I will introduce a secretarial role for admin support and a sponsorship officer to secure funding. I also plan to reintroduce ‘Takeover Tuesday’ and continue efforts to promote women in T&O by advocating for representation, mentorship, and networking. Strengthening ties with the SEM will create more opportunities for students interested in orthopaedics and sports injuries. Through collaboration, research access, and education, I aim to make the T&O society more inclusive and better connected.
